BETHANY CHAPEL SDA

Milton Ervin Guthrie began his rest in Jesus on June 5th, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born to Edwin and Edith Guthrie in Daleys Grove District, Manchester, Jamaica on September 15,1955.   

Milton had a natural affinity for understanding electronics, mechanics, and for engineering. His educational foundation started at the Bethabara All Age School, after which he transitioned to the then West Indies College High School (now Victor Dixon High School), both located in Manchester, Jamaica. His quest for knowledge did not end here; he devoted his time to learning about mechanics and electronics, most of which he acquired by self study.  Without taking a formal course in Information Technology, he was able to assemble computers and other electronic devices.

He was always willing to teach and instruct, whenever he had an opportunity; and always made himself available as a repairman for anyone who needed his expertise. There are individuals from his hometown who testify that they have been inspired by Milton’s dedication, tenacity and expertise. He was a master at problem solving and he would use his gift of ingenuity to support his family in any way they needed.
